Immigration records can supply a variety of information on our ancestor that can lead you to find not only where they were born but to other documents in their homeland as well. Immigration records can comprise of naturalization records, passenger lists, census records, and passport applications. I find it always helpful to start with the census records and collect all of the information I can find for every census year from birth onward for the ancestor I am researching. The census records can also hold information regarding naturalization. They are good place to start your research and lay the foundation of your researching immigration.
